Oceania Cruises unveils two 180-day round-the-world voyages aboard its new ship Aurelia starting in 2028
In May 2026, luxury cruise line Oceania Cruises lifted the veil on the maiden voyages of its new ship, the Oceania Aurelia. This completely refurbished liner promises extraordinary adventures. These include two 180-day circumnavigations of the globe and two Grand Voyages of over 70 days each.
A ship designed for long crossings
The Oceania Aurelia will enter service at the end of 2027. From then on, she will welcome less than 500 passengers for 400 crew members. This exceptional ratio guarantees an intimate atmosphere and attentive service.
The ship has been designed for long-distance voyages. Every detail is designed for comfort during days at sea. Living spaces offer calm and refinement, ideal for relaxing and socializing.
Our itineraries combine rich ports of call with leisurely sailing times. So passengers can enjoy each destination to the full, without rushing.
Extended stopovers for total immersion
Both circumnavigations include many nights in port. Highlights include Papeete, Bora Bora, Sydney, Bali, Tokyo and Singapore. These extended stopovers allow you to experience each place in depth.
“Specially designed for ocean crossings and long voyages around the globe, the Oceania Aurelia offers exceptional itineraries, including two round-the-world tours and Grand Voyages simultaneously.”
Exclusive land programs complete these stopovers. Machu Picchu in Peru, the city of Petra in Jordan and the Taj Mahal in India are just some of the sights on offer. Nearly 100 UNESCO World Heritage sites can be found along the way.
Around the world 2028: from Miami to New York
The first round-the-world voyage will begin on January 18, 2028 in Miami. Passengers will attend the ship’s christening before the big departure. This momentous occasion will mark the start of a six-month adventure.
The route crosses the Panama Canal and then opens out onto the Pacific. Hawaii, French Polynesia and the South Pacific offer more than two weeks of heavenly stopovers. Then it’s on to Australia, with an overnight stay in Sydney.
- Crossing the Panama Canal
- Two-week stopover in French Polynesia
- Discover Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand
- Nearly three weeks in the Mediterranean
- Final arrival in New York after a transatlantic crossing
The journey continues in Southeast Asia. Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand reveal their treasures. Two weeks along the Japanese coast complete this Asian immersion.
India and the Mediterranean
After Asia, travellers discover India and the Arabian Peninsula. The cultural riches of these regions mark a pivotal stage in the journey. Then, almost three weeks in the Mediterranean await the passengers.
Greece, Italy, the Côte d’Azur, Spain and Portugal follow before the final crossing. New York then welcomes travelers to conclude this world tour in style.
Around the world 2029: from Los Angeles to New York
The second round-the-world voyage will depart from Los Angeles on January 6, 2029. It will first skirt the Pacific coast of the Americas. Ecuador, Peru and Chile offer strikingly contrasting landscapes.
A stopover on Easter Island is a highlight of this trip. Then, more than two weeks in French Polynesia allow you to savor the turquoise lagoons. Oceania Cruises offers a rare immersion in the South Pacific.
This is followed by three weeks in New Zealand and Australia. The focus then shifts to Southeast Asia. Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand precede Sri Lanka, the Maldives and India.
Mediterranean and Atlantic crossing
The route continues on to the Mediterranean. Greece, Croatia, Italy, France and Spain make up this European section. The British Isles mark the last stage before the ocean.
An Atlantic crossing brings travelers back to New York. This second world tour offers a complete vision of the planet in 180 days.
Two Grand Voyages to vary your pleasures
In addition to its round-the-world tours, Oceania Cruises offers two Grand Voyages. The first, “Grand Nordic and Baltic Discovery”, lasts 78 days. It departs from New York on July 18, 2028 and reaches Boston.
The journey takes in Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Travellers continue on to the British Isles, Norway and Scandinavia. Denmark, Sweden, Latvia and Germany complete this Nordic itinerary.
The second Grand Voyage, “Grand South America Adventure”, lasts 71 days. It begins on October 27, 2028 in Miami and ends in Los Angeles. This cruise crosses the Caribbean before skirting South America.
The route takes in Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile. Passengers venture as far as the Antarctic Peninsula for a rare experience. Finally, Peru unveils the legendary lost city of the Incas before arriving in Los Angeles.
