Monoprix teams up with the Musée d’Orsay for a 50-piece fashion and home collection
Imagine waking up to Berthe Morisot or Claude Monet on your breakfast table or scattered across your sofa cushions. That is exactly what Monoprix is offering with its new capsule collection, born from an unprecedented collaboration with the Musée d’Orsay, available from 23 September 2026.
A first for Monoprix: partnering with a museum
This autumn 2026, the brand is going further than a single new launch. Following a design-led collaboration with Hall Haus, Monoprix is breaking new ground by joining forces with a cultural institution for the very first time. And the choice is anything but coincidental: the Musée d’Orsay is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, making it the perfect moment for such a capsule.
Housed in a former Parisian railway station, the Musée d’Orsay is renowned above all for its Impressionist collections. It is only natural, then, that this painterly movement serves as the guiding thread of the collection. In total, 50 pieces spanning fashion and home décor will be on offer.
Women artists at the heart of the project
The collection does not limit itself to the movement’s most celebrated male figures. Certainly, masters such as Claude Monet, Édouard Manet and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec are represented. But the capsule also deliberately shines a light on women painters.
Works by Berthe Morisot and Eva Gonzalès feature among the chosen motifs. The collection is also an opportunity to (re)discover the Belgian painter Anna Boch, a name less familiar to the general public. For art lovers, it doubles as an invitation to explore figures sometimes overlooked by art history.
What the Monoprix x Orsay collection actually offers
The capsule spans two distinct worlds: wardrobe and home. On the fashion side, silhouettes play with floaty volumes, feminine lines and a revisited dandy aesthetic. The spirit of the late 19th century is reinterpreted for contemporary wear.
- Cushions and bedspreads in nature-inspired hues
- Decorative boxes featuring Impressionist motifs
- Tableware in a palette of greens
- Rounded, flared crockery echoing the blown glass of a bygone era
- Rattan pieces for a chic countryside feel with retro undertones
Green takes centre stage in the colour palette, a direct nod to the nature that permeates the paintings of this period. The tableware stands out as the collection’s centrepiece: its generous, flared forms are reminiscent of the delicate blown-glass creations of old.
A retro mood as the décor’s guiding thread
Beyond the painterly motifs, it is an entire atmosphere that Monoprix is seeking to recreate. A handful of rattan pieces complete the ensemble, anchoring the collection in a chic countryside aesthetic that feels at once nostalgic and thoroughly current.
The ambition of this capsule goes well beyond simply reproducing artworks on everyday objects. The aim is to bring a whole aesthetic universe into the home, that of the late 19th century, poised between Post-Impressionism and bourgeois art de vivre. The result is a cohesive collection in which every piece speaks to the others.
The Monoprix x Orsay collection will be available on Monoprix.fr from 23 September 2026, to mark the Musée d’Orsay’s 40th anniversary.
