Jazz and gastronomy at the Jardins de Bagatelle: the Melville dinner-concerts are back!
This summer, Parisian jazz club Le Melville takes over the Jardins de Bagatelle for a series of dinner-concerts combining live music, haute cuisine and bucolic surroundings.
When Paris gets too noisy, some places know how to restore silence with elegance. Le Melville, a jazz club emblematic of the Parisian landscape, is leaving its hushed setting and moving outdoors for a summer in one of the capital’s most beautiful gardens: the Jardins de Bagatelle, in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne. From May 7 to July 30 2025, thirteen Wednesday evenings will be devoted to jazz concerts under the stars, accompanied by a four-course gastronomic dinner.
An enchanted interlude in the Bois de Boulogne
The event takes place at 7.30pm, around the Château de Bagatelle, an 18th-century jewel surrounded by rose gardens, English-style avenues and waterfalls. Chef Malcom Ecolasse, who has worked in the kitchens of Le Meurice, has created a culinary proposal in keeping with the softness of the setting: labneh with eggplant and miso, salmon passion ceviche, millefeuille with Dulcey ganache and peanut praline… A true sensory voyage, for €100 (including concert).
Jazz under the stars: a demanding program
On the music front, Le Melville remains true to its high artistic standards. Every Wednesday, a different artist or group explores a different facet of jazz: from swing to Latin jazz, via hard bop or reinterpreted standards. The line-up includes Lisa Spada, Mat Boré and the Gautier Montegu Trio. The aim? To give each date a unique sound identity, while promoting both established talent and new discoveries.
Simple, unostentatious luxury
Under subdued lighting, between white tablecloths and peacock songs, the atmosphere is hushed but never stuffy. A hundred or so guests share a timeless moment, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. In the event of rain, evenings are rescheduled or refunded. The experience is all about accuracy, never gratuitous spectacle.
