Opera a Palazzo returns to the Musée Jacquemart-André: opera up close to the artists
From September 21, 2025, the Musée Jacquemart-André will host a new season of Opera a Palazzo, an intimate event that reinvents the art of opera.
At the crossroads of heritage and live music, Opera a Palazzo offers a unique immersion into the heart of Verdi’s masterpieces. Inspired by the musical salons of the 19th century, this format plunges the audience into the heart of the action, without a pit or stage. Each act is performed in a different salon of the museum, inviting the audience to stroll through the opera at close quarters with the singers.
An immersive lyrical experience
The 2025-2026 edition highlights two great Italian operas:
- La Traviata, centered on the trio of Violetta, Alfredo and Germont, accompanied by a piano-violin-cello trio.
- Rigoletto, in a touring version performed by five renowned singers and musicians.
This format creates a rare closeness: spectators become almost characters, sharing the space and emotions of the artists. This approach appeals to both the curious and the discerning music lover.
A heritage sublimated by lyrical art
The Musée Jacquemart-André, a jewel of the 19th century, provides a sumptuous setting for this project. The salons, usually devoted to art collections, are transformed into living stages. Voices resonate in a hushed, elegant atmosphere. This exclusive experience also allows visitors to discover the museum in a different way, outside its normal opening hours.
A troupe of excellence
Opera a Palazzo’s artists, young talents and established singers, perform on the greatest international stages (Scala de Milan, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Chorégies d’Orange). The artistic director is Hugues Rameau-Crays. In collaboration with conductors from the Opéra de Paris and Opéra-Comique, guaranteeing the highest musical standards.
