“Voyage & saveurs du Japon”: a gourmet and cultural immersion in the heart of Japan’s regions in Paris

Paris is getting ready to host a unique event for all lovers of Japan, its gastronomy and its landscapes. From Friday January 23 to Sunday January 25, 2026, the Maison de la culture du Japon in Paris will be the setting for a unique immersion experience with “Voyage & saveurs du Japon”, the very first event for the general public dedicated to the discovery of Japan’s regions through their culinary specialties and wealth of tourist attractions.

Organized by theJapan National Tourist Office (JNTO), in partnership with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Maison de la Culture du Japon in Paris, this event offers an immersive experience designed as a genuine invitation to travel. Whether you’re an enthusiast of Japanese culture, a lover of Japanese gastronomy or simply curious, “Voyage & saveurs du Japon” promises an exotic interlude, without leaving Paris.

A tour of Japan through its regions and flavours

For three days, ten Japanese regions, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, will be in the spotlight. Local municipalities, railway companies, travel agencies and specialized organizations will be on hand to share their knowledge and offer practical advice to visitors. Each stand will provide a better understanding of the identity of these territories, their traditions, landscapes and tourist attractions.

Gastronomy naturally plays a central role in this discovery. Visitors will be able to sample a selection ofauthentic ingredients, reflecting the diversity of Japanese cuisine. Tofu, miso, sesame, Saga sake, spicy ramen, udon and regional specialties will all be available for tasting. A rare opportunity to explore Japanese cuisine beyond the classics, discovering flavors that are sometimes little-known but deeply rooted in the local terroir.

A fun, immersive experience for all visitors

Designed as an interactive journey, the event also features a passport-style booklet, given to visitors on arrival. At each stand visited, a stamp marks the passage, recalling the spirit of the journey. Participants who manage to collect all ten stamps can leave with a small Japanese treat, adding a fun and friendly dimension to the experience.

Beyond gastronomy, “Travel & Flavors of Japan” is also aimed at those planning a future trip to Japan. Exhibitors, including East Japan Railway Company, Kyushu Railway Company, the prefectures of Fukuoka, Saga, Nagano and Sendai & Miyagi, will be on hand to share itineraries, travel ideas and regional inspirations. It’s the perfect way to get away from it all, while discovering Japan’s cultural and culinary riches.
