A rigorous methodology for this ranking

The competition is based on the real opinions of holidaymakers who stayed at the establishments in 2025. A detailed questionnaire enabled them to rate several criteria: quality of services, aquatic areas, accommodation and entertainment. This approach guarantees a ranking in line with campers’ expectations.

This year, an additional 242 sites spontaneously joined the selection. In all, almost 3,000 campsites were in the running for this prestigious title. Additional votes, motivated by a draw, boosted participation.

Only campsites with an overall score of over 8 out of 10 are included. This high threshold reflects the growing expectations of French holidaymakers. The outdoor hotel industry is continuing to move upmarket to meet these new expectations.
