ParisSelect - Ce lieu secret de Montmartre ouvre ses portes seize soirs cet été pour des concerts en plein air à 45 €

This summer, lovers of classical music and open-air evenings have a date on the heights of Montmartre. From July 22 to August 15, 2026, the Arènes Lyriques will once again take over the Jardin des Arènes, a site rarely accessible to the public. Sixteen concert evenings promise suspended moments between starry skies and timeless melodies.

A unique musical event in the heart of Montmartre

Les Arènes Lyriques returns for another eagerly-awaited edition. These open-air concerts take place after dark, in a setting steeped in history. The Jardin des Arènes de Montmartre, located at 25, rue Chappe in the 18th arrondissement, offers a rare setting for this type of performance.

The event features mainly classical music, but not exclusively. This year, the program combines lyrical repertoire with a touch of soul. It’s an approach that appeals to music lovers and curious neophytes alike.

These evenings offer a different cultural experience. Far removed from traditional concert halls, audiences enjoy a special acoustic and intimate atmosphere.

A program entitled “Among the clouds

This 2026 edition is entitled E Fra le nubi d’or, or “Among the clouds” in French. A poetic name that announces the color of the evenings to come. The chosen works span several musical eras and styles.

“Les Arènes Lyriques are classical music concerts – mainly, but not exclusively – performed live, after dark, in the heart of the Montmartre arenas.”

Among the pieces performed are classics from the operatic repertoire. Arturo Márquez’s Danzón No. 2 will open horizons to Latin American music. The famous aria “Nessun Dorma ” from Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot will thrill the audience.

The aria “Ebben? Ne andrò lontana” from Alfredo Catalani’s La Wally will add a touch of pure emotion. For variety, Nina Simone’s My Baby Just Cares For Me adds a jazzy, soulful note to the program.

  • My Baby Just Cares For Me by Nina Simone
  • Sixteen concert evenings in all

Eight exceptional soloists to enliven the evenings

To perform these works, two groups of four soloists will take turns on stage. This rotation offers different vocal colors on different dates. Each group brings its own sensitivity to the melodies.

From July 22 to August 1, the first group will comprise Clara Orif (soprano), Louise Bianco (soul voice), Jean-François Marras (tenor) and Kim Bernard on piano. These artists will open the concert series on the heights of Montmartre.

From August 5 to 15, Anara Khassenova (soprano), Laurine Moullet (soul voice), Jérémie Schütz (tenor) and Alexandre Lombard-Buffet (piano) will take over. This second quartet will bring the summer season to a close in style.

A fifteen-piece orchestra

The soloists are not alone on stage. The 15-strong Arènes Lyriques orchestra will accompany them throughout the performances. This ensemble brings a richness of sound essential to the works performed.

Musical direction will be entrusted to Angelina Zurzolo and Thomas Lefort. These two conductors also hold the positions of first violins 1 and 2. Their dual roles guarantee a remarkable artistic cohesion.

This orchestral configuration allows the full power of the lyrical arias to be restored. It also offers the flexibility needed for the program’s more intimate or jazzy passages.

Practical information to reserve your seats

The concerts will be held in the Jardin des Arènes de Montmartre, at 25, rue Chappe in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. This venue, usually closed to the public, provides an exceptional setting for these nocturnal performances. Access is easy from the Abbesses or Anvers metro stations.

Prices are set at €45 for the full rate. A reduced rate of €34 is available for under-26s. These prices allow access to a quality cultural experience in a unique venue.

Ticketing is now open for this 2026 edition. Given the exceptional nature of the venue and the limited number of places available, early booking is recommended. The most popular evenings often sell out several weeks in advance.

To make the most of these open-air concerts in Montmartre, don’t forget to bring summer evening wear. The cooler weather can set in once night falls on the hilltop. These sixteen evenings promise moments of grace, from operatic arias to soulful melodies, under the Paris skyline.
