ParisSelect - Ces guinguettes parisiennes où danser jusqu'au bout de la nuit cet été

Every summer, Parisian guinguettes attract lovers of festive, convivial evenings. Drink, dine and tap to the rhythm of accordions until nightfall. To make the most of the fine weather in 2026, here’s our selection of the capital’s best addresses.

Where does the word “guinguette” come from?

Originally, the term comes from the word “guinguet”. It refers to a small wine made from the vines of the clos guinguet, on the slopes of Belleville. This was the birthplace of the first guinguettes in the late 17th century.

These places were located on the outskirts of Paris. As a result, they were not subject to the wine tax. Prices remained affordable for all.

Today, these open-air spaces retain their festive spirit. It’s a great place to meet friends, quench your thirst and dance the night away.
