Picture a Burberry-print sun lounger facing the Aegean Sea, or a Capri terrace redesigned by Jonathan Anderson for Dior: in 2026, beach clubs are no longer simply places to unwind, they have become style statements signed by the world’s greatest fashion houses.

When haute couture moves to the waterfront

From the Côte d’Azur to Zanzibar, via Sardinia and the Greek islands, luxury hotel complexes have opened their beaches to unprecedented collaborations with fashion houses. This movement goes far beyond a marketing exercise: brands are rethinking the entire aesthetic of each space, from sun loungers to parasols, towels to pop-up boutiques, and even private watercraft. Every detail of the beach environment becomes an extension of a coherent creative universe.

The phenomenon spans a remarkably diverse range of destinations. These designer beach clubs are turning up on the most storied Mediterranean shores as well as in East Africa and the Balearics. The result is a summer itinerary for the luxury traveller that is, quite literally, dictated by fashion.

Collaborations that reimagine iconic addresses

In Monaco, Gucci is transforming La Rose des Vents, one of the Principality’s most exclusive beach clubs with just 36 seafront spots. The iconic Flora print, which brings together around 27 botanical varieties including lilies, poppies, daffodils and tulips, adorns sun loungers and towels alike. Belgian floral artist Mark Colle completes the installation with monumental botanical sculptures, lending the whole setting an almost theatrical dimension.

In Sicily, Dolce&Gabbana renews its bond with the island at the San Domenico Palace in Taormina, a Four Seasons property suspended between Monte Tauro and the sea. For the first time, the Palme motif in green and white reimagines the infinity pool and panoramic terrace. A pop-up boutique installed in the monastery’s former sacristy offers a curated selection of clothing and accessories created for the occasion.

On the Côte d’Azur, Burberry has taken up residence at the Hôtel Belle Rives at Cap d’Antibes, the villa where F. Scott Fitzgerald stayed and found inspiration for Tender Is the Night. The iconic check is revisited in an exclusive palette of navy, cream and so-called “Riviera” tones. The installation covers the beach club, the seafront terraces and the private jetty, right down to the original 1920s lift.

Designer beach clubs across Europe and beyond

Here is a guide to the fashion-hotel collaborations to know for summer 2026:

  • Dior at Il Riccio, Capri: Jonathan Anderson reinterprets the Christian Dior heritage through the gozzo, the traditional Italian fishing boat, with motifs inspired by artist Christian Bérard across the terrace of the Jumeirah Capri Palace.
  • Jacquemus at Mandarin Oriental Bodrum: the French label transforms Paradise Bay in Turkey, weaving its effortlessly refined aesthetic throughout the resort’s entire waterfront.
  • Missoni at OKU Ibiza: for the second consecutive year, the Italian house reimagines the resort’s 50-metre pool in a palette of midnight blue, turquoise and emerald green.
  • Etro at Romazzino, Costa Smeralda: an exclusive fabric reinterprets the Paisley motif in shades of terracotta, beige, brown, sage green and teal, covering the Pool Bar and the Relaxing Wood area.
  • Ferragamo at Tala Beach, Marina di Pietrasanta: the Florentine house takes over this venue, designed by Locatelli Partners, until mid-September, with towels, cushions and a pop-up boutique in beige, leather and burgundy.
  • GUESS at Bawe Island, Zanzibar: from May to August 2026, the private island of more than thirty hectares belonging to The Cocoon Collection hosts the first-ever GUESS Island, complete with a graphic print created exclusively for the occasion.

Harmont & Blaine, meanwhile, renews its partnership with Bar Tiberio on Capri’s Piazzetta for a second consecutive season. Curtains, parasols, tablecloths and staff uniforms all carry the dachshund brand’s striped prints and summer colour palette.

Burberry on two shores: Athens and Antibes

The British house is the only brand to sign two distinct collaborations this summer. At One&Only Aesthesis on the Athenian Riviera, the House Check sheds its classic tones in favour of a palette inspired by the hues of the Aegean Sea. This entirely new geometric motif extends from the gardens and pool area to the tennis and padel courts. Guests can also get around on bicycles, buggies and watercraft fully customised in the house’s colours.

These two installations illustrate Burberry’s ability to adapt its visual language to very different geographical and cultural contexts while maintaining an immediately recognisable stylistic coherence. From the literary memory of Cap d’Antibes to the light of the Greek coast, the brand demonstrates that its beach clubs function as genuine extensions of its identity.

Taken together, the 2026 season maps out an entirely new landscape of seaside luxury, one where choosing your destination means choosing the fashion house that will orchestrate your stay. Every address offers a fully immersive experience that goes far beyond a branded sun lounger.
