A night at the Louvre? Here’s what’s in store for Nuit des Musées
A night in the Louvre, under the gaze of the Mona Lisa and by candlelight? That’s what the Nuit des Musées 2025 offers, for an unforgettable experience.
A magical night in the world’s largest museum
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, the Musée du Louvre will be taking part in the 21st Nuit des Musées, one of the most eagerly awaited cultural events of the spring. And good news: admission is free! But please note that registration is required to enjoy this unique evening in the heart of Paris’s 1st arrondissement.
Under the museum’s historic vaults, the works take on a new dimension: La Joconde, La Victoire de Samothrace, La Vénus de Milo, La Liberté guidant le peuple and Le Radeau de la Méduse seem to whisper in your ear in a hushed, nocturnal atmosphere.
An exceptional program of art, light and creation
In addition to the permanent collections, the Louvre offers a rich and varied program of events:
- Gaël Faye’s event concert (6.15pm-9.30pm) with the Royal Drummers of Burundi and the Intore Dancers of Rwanda, for a never-before-seen performance.
- Mini-tours of the Louvre Couture and Mamlouks exhibitions (13 departures between 6:30pm and 9:30pm).
- A series ofcreative workshops for young and old: light painting, shadow theater, lanterns, mood boards and glow-in-the-dark markers to illuminate the works.
- And for classical music fans: a Baroque candlelight concert in the Anne d’Autriche apartments, for a musical immersion by candlelight (three sessions between 7pm and 9:30pm).
