This ultra-luxe Tea Time at the Peninsula hides an imperial secret…
An imperial jewel case invites you to tea time. In Paris, Le Peninsula and Chaumet are reinventing the Tea Time experience with a sweet tribute to… the bee. The result is both disconcerting and fascinating.
When haute joaillerie meets haute pâtisserie
From June 15 to the end of August 2025, the Lobby of the Peninsula Paris will host an exceptional Tea Time, imagined by Anne Coruble, the palace’s Head Pastry Chef, in collaboration with Chaumet. This unprecedented partnership celebrates the return of the Bee collection, a legendary jewelry line inspired by the imperial bee, the poetic emblem of the house founded in 1780.
Why the bee? Because it embodies refinement, meticulousness and a certain idea of royalty. And because the Peninsula houses… its own beehives on the roof. So the tribute is as local as it is symbolic.
A taste experience full of contrasts
The limited-edition menu unveils five sweet creations as subtle as they are daring. Among them:Écume yaourt, with fresh pollen and milk jam, surprises with its airy lightness; Fleur de propolis evokes a blossoming garden with avocado honey and beeswax; Tarte citron au miel d’arbousier twists a classic with panache.
On the savory side, croustillant de volaille au foie gras et gel au vin jaune is a standout, as is Barbajuan provençal, a nod to the Mediterranean.
Luxury in every detail
The presentation is no exception: the pastries rest on a revisited server evoking a stylized beehive, in a décor adorned with floral and beekeeping motifs, subtly signed Chaumet. At €95 for the classic version (or €115 with a glass of champagne), this Tea Time remains a confidential luxury, designed for enlightened connoisseurs.
