Chanel to present its next Métiers d’Art show in New York

Chanel has announced that its next Métiers d’Art show will be held on December 2, 2025 in New York, marking a new turning point for the house. A choice that follows Matthieu Blazy’s traditional first collection in Paris in October, and continues two months later in the U.S.

Why New York?

The decision to migrate to New York, when Chanel has already organized a Métiers d’Art in Manchester or Dakar, is fraught with signs.
New York represents a return to familiar ground for Matthieu Blazy, who has a wealth of experience at Bottega Veneta linked to the United States.
It’s also a nod to Gabrielle Chanel, who since the 1930s has maintained partnerships with department stores such as Saks and Bergdorf Goodman, and to Karl Lagerfeld, who in 2018 chose the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a Métiers d’Art show.

An emblematic collection for the house

The Métiers d’Art fashion shows highlight theexceptional workshops that make up Chanel’s creative chain: Lesage (embroidery), Lemarié (flowers and featherwork), Massaro (shoemaking) and Goossens (jewelry).
Acclaimed since 2002, these events have already taken place in Dallas, Hamburg, Edinburgh, Seoul and Hangzhou.

The strategic challenge of the operation

Chanel’s choice of New York has two aims:

  • Targeting the US market, dense and central to the luxury universe, at a time when growth there remains crucial despite recent challenges.
  • Ensure cultural and media exposure outside the usual European circuit.

The next Métiers d’Art is becoming a key event, at the crossroads of French craftsmanship and the international scene.

And Paris?

Although the event will take place in New York, it all starts in Paris:
The Chanel teams design and manufacture the pieces from Rue Cambon and 19M in Aubervilliers, a temple to artisanal craftsmanship.
The process remains deeply rooted in the capital, even if the final exhibition is exported.

After New York, Parisians could have the opportunity to discover certain pieces at a showroom or a presentation at 19M, as in previous editions.
