Tea Time at the Palace Plaza Athénée: sublimating pastry excellence

To enter the Hôtel Plaza Athénée is to enter a hushed world where time seems to slow down, as if held back by a form of silent grace. An almost cinematic atmosphere of subdued light, elegant murmurings and understated yet omnipresent luxury. At the entrance to La Galerie, the harpist punctuates the moment with crystalline notes that envelop visitors in an almost unreal gentleness. In this sanctuary of voluptuousness, every detail – fabrics, marbles, golds – creates a decor of rare singularity. It’s the quintessence of French art de vivre, the French Touch of refinement, balance and controlled elegance. Here, indulgence becomes an art, a break a ritual, and tea time a moment of absolute excellence.

A tea time reinvented, between audacity and delicacy

The Plaza Athénée unveils a new interpretation of tea time, orchestrated by pastry chef duo Angelo Musa and Elisabeth Hot, in close collaboration with chef Jean Imbert. Three signatures, three visions intertwine to offer a tea time of remarkable finesse. Each creation reads like a skilfully composed score: chiseled textures, unexpected aromatic associations, precision balances. Lovers of sweetness will linger over an airy orange blossom brioche or an envelopingly tender hazelnut roll cake. Savory palates will be delighted by a trilogy of delicate fingers – mimosa, truffle and trout – which provide a subtle counterpoint to the sweet score.

A sculptural display to enhance the tasting experience

As if to make these creations even more sacred, the Hôtel Plaza Athénée unveils a new display case imagined as a work of art. Entirely hand-crafted by French artisans, it reinterprets the architectural codes of the hotel’s legendary façade: iconic marquee, rounded balconies, clean lines. Composed of ninety separate pieces in immaculate acrylic stone and silver-plated brass, this majestic base transforms the pastries into veritable gastronomic gems, to be admired before they are savored.

The Select rendez-vous for chic Tea Time addicts

Tea time at the Plaza Athénée is more than just a break: it’s an experience that embodies Parisian chic, a suspended moment where excellence is experienced with every gesture, every harp note, every bite. Listed by editors as one of the three best tea times in Paris, it represents the very essence of French luxury: a celebration of gentleness, creativity and savoir-faire. A must, a gourmet interlude of the highest order, a moment you won’t forget.
