In the Maldives, LUX* South Ari Atoll unveils a 206 m² villa with a shell-shaped pool and underwater music

ParisSelectBook - Aux Maldives, LUX* South Ari Atoll dévoile une villa de 206 m² avec piscine coquillage et musique sous-marine

LUX* South Ari Atoll has just unveiled a new category of villa in the Maldives, and it’s not quite like anything else the archipelago usually offers. The Temptation Beach Pool Villa, launched by The Lux Collective, is based on a simple yet precise concept: to offer a space where sophistication never seeks to dominate the island, but rather to blend in with it.

A 206 m² villa designed as a private beachfront suite

The Temptation Beach Pool Villa spans 206 square meters. It features a bedroom, a stylish living room, a spacious walk-in closet, two bathrooms, an outdoor shower, and a large private patio. As a result, each space serves its own purpose without ever overlapping.

At the center of this composition is a 14-square-meter pool opens up a view of the Indian Ocean. It acts as a mirror set between the architecture and the horizon. From there, the view of the sea naturally draws the eye first thing in the morning.

The light-filled living room combines comfortable sofas that can be converted into extra beds, custom-made furniture, and textures inspired by coastal craftsmanship. The custom-designed bar, with legs reminiscent of driftwood and rattan panels, sets the tone right away: here, design is not a statement, but an evocation.

“Here, luxury isn’t something that’s flaunted. It’s something you breathe in—in the light of a living room, in the curve of a bathtub, in the silence of a patio, in the horizon that seems to open up from the bed.”

An island setting—but never a literal one

The color palette plays with the island’s shades of blue. Shaded curtains, teal sofa covers, natural fabrics, and woven details come together to create a setting where every element seems to interact with the sea. In the bedroom, the canopy bed evokes traditional Maldivian dhonis, those iconic boats that have connected the islands for generations.

Framed by floor-to-ceiling glass doors, this bed offers a panoramic view of the beach upon waking. The landscape thus becomes the first treat of the day. Yet nothing is overt: everything is subtly stylized, never literal.

The walk-in closet continues this nautical theme with a freestanding vanity inspired by coral, two sinks, and open shelving. Tapestries embroidered with tropical motifs and branch-shaped curtain rods extend the idea of nature brought into the interior space, without naively imitating it.

  • Total area: 206 m², with a bedroom, living room, walk-in closet, and two bathrooms
  • 14 m² private pool overlooking the Indian Ocean
  • Bathroom with curved walls, terrazzo flooring, and a double shell-shaped bathtub
  • An outdoor pergola reminiscent of the bow of a sailboat, featuring a patio, a round sofa, and a dining bench
  • Outdoor plunge pool with built-in underwater music

A bathroom designed to feel like a private spa

The bathroom is one of the villa’s highlights. Curved walls, a terrazzo floor, a double shell-shaped bathtub, a view of a small palm-tree garden, and an outdoor shower come together to create an intimate space dedicated to self-care and relaxation. Water, which is everywhere in the Maldives, becomes an architectural element in its own right here.

Outside, the pergola—which resembles the bow of a sailboat—sheltered a sunny patio with custom-made lounge chairs, a round sofa, and a bench for al fresco dining. In addition, the infinity pool—designed to resemble a large seashell—features underwater music. This detail enhances an immersive experience where the body, the sense of hearing, light, and temperature all contribute to the same narrative.

In addition, this new villa was designed to accommodate a diverse range of guests. It can accommodate two adults and two children or teenagers, or two adults with an infant. The resort thus meets a contemporary expectation: less formality, more space; less rigidity, more flexibility.

A restaurant that has won awards three years in a row

LUX* South Ari Atoll has received a Five-Star rating from the Forbes Travel Guide Awards for the third consecutive year. The resort also won the “Best for Families” 2025 and “Best Hotel Spa” 2026 awards at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence. These accolades place the resort in a distinct category: that of resorts offering a comprehensive hospitality experience, designed as much for relaxation as for quality of service.

These accolades are no small matter. They confirm that LUX* South Ari Atoll does not rely solely on the beauty of its setting, but rather creates a measurable and repeatable experience. However, the resort does not stop at these accolades alone.

The Lux Collective and Sustainability as a Prerequisite for Credibility

The Lux Collective, a group that operates brands such as LUX*, SALT, TAMASSA, SOCIO, and Café LUX*, is highlighting its Tread Lightly program. This program aims to promote more environmentally friendly stays. Its partnership with Altruistiq, a carbon data specialist, enables the company to track emission sources according to science-based international standards.

In the island hospitality industry, this commitment is no longer just a secondary selling point. It has become a prerequisite for credibility. As a result, LUX* South Ari Atoll places environmental awareness on the same level as design and service.

Consequently, the Temptation Beach Pool Villa pursues two goals simultaneously: offering a sensory and intimate setting on the one hand, and grounding the guest experience in a responsible approach on the other. This dual approach aptly captures what Maldivian luxury now strives to be—a gentle, measured hedonism that is mindful of its surroundings.
