Where can you enjoy good sake in Paris? Here are our 3 favorite addresses

Fancy a finely-chosen sake in an inspired, folklore-free setting? Here are three Parisian spots that revisit the art of the izakaya with a very local touch.
Soé: the izakaya fusion that hits the spot
Conceived by Paul Grillo and Nicolas Santamaria, Soé is a Franco-Japanese bistro where sake rubs shoulders with cognac and gentian. Two menus: France or Asia, the choice is yours.
All in a warm atmosphere, with meticulous cuisine and surprising but coherent food-sake pairings. Special mention goes to the modern and traditional sakes, all carefully selected.
📍 Soé, 18 rue Beautreillis, 75004 Paris
Otto: sake and plates to share on rue Mouffetard
In the 5th arrondissement, in the heart of the legendary rue Mouffetard, Michelin-starred chefEric Trochon has set up Otto, a contemporary saké bar. The spirit? The Japanese izakaya, reinterpreted with refinement and relaxation.
Here, sake isn’t drunk alone. It’s paired with dishes to share that are as surprising as they are addictive: shiitake with sesame oil, beef onglet with chimichurri or chocolate cake with tonka cream. An address that reinvents rue Mouffetard and appeals to the curious and purists alike.

La Maison du Saké: expertise above all else
Since 2015, La Maison du Saké has been the absolute reference. With more than a hundred references imported from Japan, it offers a complete immersion experience, between tastings, workshops and cutting-edge discoveries led by real enthusiasts.
But that’s not all. In the basement, we discover the Golden Promise, a confidential bar, and behind a back door: the Michelin-starred ERH restaurant, run by chef Ryuichi Utsumi. The name? Water, Rice, Man – the three pillars of sake. A journey between Paris and Tokyo in a discreet setting.
