From October 6 to 27, 2026, Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann will host “Meet Your Seoul Galeries Lafayette K-fashion,” a one-of-a-kind pop-up showcasing five up-and-coming Seoul-based fashion labels. The event is the first of its kind at the department store, and it comes at just the right time: 2026 marks the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and South Korea.

Why This Pop-Up Will Change the Way You View Korean Fashion

Korean fashion is no longer limited to viral streetwear trends. It now produces brands with a distinct identity, just like the Parisian labels you’re familiar with. Meet Your Seoul brings together five carefully selected designers, all of whom participate in The Selects, a global fashion showroom supported by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), in partnership with Hyundai Department Store, one of South Korea’s leading retail groups.

The goal is clear: to capture the energy of Seoul and bring it to the heart of La Coupole’s third floor for three weeks. Each brand brings its own signature style, and together they create a cohesive and appealing panorama of contemporary Korean women’s ready-to-wear fashion.

Victoria Dartigues, Director of Women’s Fashion and Small Leather Goods Purchasing at Galeries Lafayette, sums up the spirit of the event: “As Korean culture continues to gain influence around the world, we are particularly honored to welcome these five designers to Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann. This event reflects our commitment to showcasing the creative talents shaping the future, and our department store’s continued position at the forefront of the latest global trends.”

KIMHĒKIM and THEILMA: Poetry and Freedom of Expression

KIMHĒKIM takes its name from the Korean royal dynasty of the ancient Kingdom of Gaya. The brand celebrates the art of gold and the craftsmanship of this lineage through ready-to-wear pieces and accessories that are both simple and poetic.

THEILMA, whose name means “air” in Finnish, explores a quietly confident aesthetic. The label transcends conventional norms and boundaries to encourage individual expression, rooted in a resolutely contemporary perspective. Thus, the two brands share a common ethos: light in appearance, profound in intention.

RE RHÉE, LIE, FRITUR: Three Visions of Women’s Wardrobe

RE RHÉE offers ready-to-wear clothing and accessories that blend refined luxury with understated modernity. Its designs strip away the superfluous to focus on the essence—on the essential piece that remains when everything else fades away. In contrast, LIE embraces a bold and structured aesthetic: the brand blends a wide range of creative ideas with a keen sense of textile architecture, resulting in romantic yet highly wearable everyday pieces.

Finally, FRITUR takes its name from the combination of “Friday” and “Saturday.” The Seoul-based label offers comfortable clothing with an artisanal touch, inspired by travel and designed to delight people of all ages with a free-spirited and flexible mindset. Moreover, this approach—which transcends age and style boundaries—reminds us that Korean fashion can appeal to all women, not just fashion insiders.

The Selects and KOCCA: The Power of Institutional Support

Behind the “Meet Your Seoul” K-fashion event at Galeries Lafayette lies a solid foundation. The five brands are participating in “The Selects,” a global fashion showroom supported by KOCCA that helps Korean designer brands expand internationally. This type of institutional support is significant: it ensures the credibility and longevity of the featured brands, beyond the scope of a passing trend.

The partnership with Hyundai Department Store adds an expert retail dimension—that of a retailer with in-depth knowledge of these designers in their home markets. As a result, the pop-up benefits from curation that takes into account both sides of the cultural divide, which is precisely what lends it its credibility.

What You’ll Find on the 3rd Floor of La Coupole

The pop-up space is located on the 3rd floor of the main store (La Coupole), in the heart of Boulevard Haussmann. You can access it directly from the store, with no appointment or ticket required. The selection covers the entire women’s wardrobe: clothing, accessories, and statement pieces.

Each brand has its own visual identity within the space, allowing you to move from one aesthetic to another and, in just a few steps, understand what sets KIMHĒKIM’s golden poetry apart from RE RHÉE’s precise minimalism, or the romantic structure of LIE from the nomadic lightness of FRITUR. It’s also an opportunity to feel the fabrics, try on silhouettes designed for today’s women, and take home a piece that’s truly rare in Paris.

The Korean K-fashion you’ve seen trending on social media is, for the first time, just as accessible as your usual brands in this department store. And that’s the real appeal of Meet Your Seoul: not a distant showcase, but a wardrobe right at your fingertips.

For Parisian women who follow the international fashion scene but don’t always have the chance to bring home anything tangible, this event fulfills a real need. Plus, the three-week duration gives you plenty of time to come back, change your mind, and finally treat yourself to that piece you hesitated to buy the first time around.
