Renaissance of the Bus Palladium: Pigalle gets its rock temple back, but not only …

After closing in April 2022 for a major transformation, the legendary Bus Palladium will be reborn in September 2025 at its historic address at 6, rue Pierre-Fontaine, in the 9ᵉ arrondissement . A rebirth conceived as a “place to live and party around music”, which must reconcile raw rock spirit and contemporary elegance. So, will Pigalle regain its rock temple?

Between rock myth and sophisticated design

Serge Gainsbourg at the Bus palladium by @Bruno Barbey 1966

The Bus Palladium has always been much more than a concert venue: it has been a mecca of the Parisian scene since 1965, where iconic artists from the worlds of art, French and international music have debuted and performed. The Bus Palladium’s faithful include Salvador Dalí, who came to give a banquet as extravagant as it was unforgettable. Serge Gainsbourg found a unique inspiration here, inscribing the legendary club in the musical imagination of the 60s. Johnny Hallyday and Eddy Mitchell were regulars at this not-to-be-missed venue, the temple of Parisian nightlife at the time. Mick Jagger, star of the Rolling Stones, even celebrated one of his birthdays there in a wild atmosphere. The group Téléphone recorded their very first 45 rpm here, launching a legendary career from the stage of the Bus. Alain Bashung, Étienne Daho, Indochine, Noir Désir and Les Rita Mitsouko have all found a loyal and passionate following here.

Its resurrection as a 5-star boutique hotel and concert venue is a major challenge. The Studio KO feat promises to preserve this aura while reinventing it. There will be 35 rooms and suites, including a majestic 80 m² “Magic Rock” suite, designed to accommodate live artists. The adjacent 400-seat room will also become a venue for weekly events, in an atmosphere inspired by the hedonistic 60s, with bare ceilings and cork walls.

Why will this reopening be such an event in Paris?

But the return of the Bus Palladium is more than just an inauguration! It’s an invitation to an experience where rock nostalgia meets design refinement. This legendary venue, now remodeled, embodies a new generation of Parisian cultural destinations. A delicate waltz between heritage and modernity, perfect for a daring outing or an elegant night out.
