Daydreams: Sacha Goldberger’s dreamlike exhibition in Paris

Art

A journey between reality and imagination

With Daydreams,Sacha Goldberger plunges the public into a universe where reality slips subtly into the imaginary. Presented at Galerie XII, the exhibition brings together six previously unseen works from a series begun in the western United States. The landscapes of Joshua Tree and Palm Springs become postcard settings transformed by mysterious apparitions. These unreal yet familiar characters seem to emerge from a waking dream, fragments of the subconscious deposited on film. Each painting deliberately blurs the lines between collective memory and personal fantasy. The artist delicately stages absurd situations, evoking an idealized yet deeply intimate California. The series is based on photographs taken in 2022 around Los Angeles. Goldberger then uses artificial intelligence to push his imagination further. This encounter between technology and traditional know-how gives rise to disturbing images, halfway between poetry and surrealism.

Sacha Goldberger, master of visual storytelling

Sacha Goldberger first came to prominence with his Mamika series about his grandmother, and since then he has multiplied his projects in cinematic universes. With Super Flemish or Alien Lovehe has established himself as a storyteller-photographer, capable of revisiting collective memory. His work is nourished by costumes, staging and a subtle narrative, always balanced between humor and emotion. With Daydreamshe explores a fantasized America, offering a visual experience in which the viewer is invited to doubt. The Paris exhibition continues Goldberger’s international career, marked by presentations in London, New Delhi, Rio and Los Angeles. Goldberger continues to explore visual frontiers, creating works that question our imaginations. His images become windows opening onto a fiction nourished by our own dreams.
