Journées Nationales de l’Architecture 2025: 10th edition, the Paris Region in full swing

From October 16 to 19, the 10th edition of the Journées nationales de l’architecture (National Architecture Days) will focus on “Everyday Architecture”. The event, organized by the French Ministry of Culture, takes place over four days. À Throughout France, and particularly in the Île-de-France region, there will be a packed program of events. Architects, urban planners, students and the simply curious are invited to discover the wealth of an often little-known architectural heritage.

Putting architecture back at the heart of everyday life

This anniversary edition aims to put architecture back at the heart of everyday life. Behind the facades of our schools, homes, shops and offices lies a discipline that is essential to our collective well-being. The objective is clear: to show that architecture is not limited to great achievements. It also shapes the way we use, move around and relate to the city.

Urban walking programs in Ile-de-France

In the Paris region, visits and workshops are on the increase. In Paris, several architectural agencies will be opening their doors to reveal behind-the-scenes information about their projects. Urban walks will also be offered. Like the one organized in the 13th arrondissement around the BNF towers, they invite visitors to rediscover the metropolitan landscape from a new angle. In Saint-Denis, a guided tour will highlight the urban transformation of the Pleyel district, the future major hub of the Grand Paris Express.

Events to learn how to observe the environment

The “Raise your eyes!” event is scheduled from Thursday, October 16 . It will introduce schoolchildren in the Paris region to the art of reading the architectural landscape. Supervised by architects and cultural mediators, pupils will learn to observe their everyday environment in a new way. This operation, run in conjunction with the French Ministry of Education, is one of the highlights of the event.

Numerous educational workshops

Numerous educational workshops are planned for families. Collaborative models, sustainable city games and visits to current building sites will be available. Youngsters can take part in the “Petits bâtisseurs” workshop at the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine. Adults will discover the renovation of emblematic buildings such as the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection.

These four days of free or reduced-price events offer a rare opportunity to understand how architecture shapes our living environment. In this way, Paris and the surrounding region become a living laboratory where heritage, contemporary creation and public debate come together.
