Hôtel Lancaster Paris: 100 years of elegance and legends on the Champs-Élysées

Since 1925, the Hôtel Lancaster has embodied the essence of discreet French luxury, nestled in a private mansion on Rue de Berri, a stone’s throw from the Champs-Élysées. This confidential gem, part family home, part insider’s hideaway, has seen a century’s worth of stars and royalty pass through its doors. Marlene Dietrich made it her home for three years, Queen Mother Elizabeth stayed here, as did Humphrey Bogart, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton and Lauren Bacall. On the occasion of its centenary, the hotel pays tribute to these illustrious figures through a series of immersive experiences that celebrate its heritage.

The “100 Mur-Mures”: a poetic installation

To celebrate its 100th anniversary, the Lancaster is unveiling a unique sensory installation in the lobby: Les 100 Mur-Mures. Behind 100 small, numbered doors lie as many anecdotes, memories, voices and confidences, fragments of memory to be discovered at your whim. Each box reveals a hint of the past: the echo of a mythical shoot, the shadow of an iconic guest or the fragrance of an era. It’s a gentle, intimate immersion into the soul of the hotel, at once touching, elegant and full of mischief.

CopperBay Lancaster: heritage cocktails

Another celebration: the CopperBay Lancaster bar unveils a tribute cocktail menu, a veritable gustatory fresco retracing the great names that have left their mark on the hotel. The “Emile Wolf”, inspired by the French 75 of the Roaring Twenties, recalls the audacity of its founder. The “Marlène Dietrich”, a variation on Old Fashioned, honors the Hollywood icon. The couple Liz Taylor & Richard Burton are offered a glamorous duo: Chocolate Martini for her, Martini Dry for him. Each precisely crafted creation is a liquid account of the history of the place.

Three booklets to take you through the century

Finally, the Lancaster Hotel is offering an exclusive collection of three notebooks: Les Histoires du Lancaster. Cinema, art and gastronomy are featured in an elegant literary triptych. Portraits, anecdotes, works of art and recipes make up these fragments of memory, to be leafed through as if rediscovering a family treasure. An initiative in keeping with the Lancaster spirit: gracefully and sincerely transmitting a living heritage.

A century of whispers, elegance and an inspired future

Far from the flashy palaces, the Lancaster offers hushed luxury, a sincere welcome and unrivalled attention to detail. In 2025, more than ever, this legendary address reaffirms its place in the heart of Paris: a hotel of stories, art and emotions, ready to write the next 100 years with as much elegance as the previous ones.
