Make-up & sport: staying fresh, even during exercise

Sweaty, scarlet cheeks, hastily tied hair… What if your make-up could hold up perfectly? With a little forethought and well-chosen formulas, your make-up can keep up without suffocating your skin.

We see it on dancers, yoga instructors and pilates pros: even in the midst of exertion, the complexion remains clean, the eyes clean, the mouth comfortable. The key is not “full glam”, but careful preparation and a few clever products designed to last. The idea is not to wear make-up to hide sweat, but to keep a fresh look, even when the cardio’s racing.

Preparing the skin: the real key to staying power

Before talking foundation, we think skincare. A well-cleansed, well-moisturized face keeps its make-up on longer, especially when the temperature rises.

Before class, we start with a gentle cleansing, which removes pollution and excess sebum without stripping. This is followed by Estime & Sens Douceur Lotion, certified organic (99% ingredients of natural origin), which removes the last traces of make-up and sebum while respecting the skin. Enriched with aloe vera, rose floral water, oat kernel extract and grape leaf, it moisturizes, soothes and revives radiance, leaving skin supple and ready for the rest of the routine.

Then we wake up the skin with the Vivifying Mist: an airy spray that immediately energizes and moisturizes the face. Its alcohol-free synergy ofgrapefruit, cabreuva, lavender, spearmint and peppermint essential oils tones, refreshes and soothes. Skin is fresh, comfortable and perfectly hydrated.

Then moisturize with a light texture. Garancia’s [Diabolique Tomate] Crème d’Eau, a 3-in-1 24-hour moisturizing, plumping and healthy-glow treatment, helps restore the skin’s ability to self-moisturize, while leaving a light, rosy veil that awakens the complexion. Its tomato hue, naturally derived from lycopene, helps fade redness and gently evens out skin tone. The texture transforms into water on contact with the skin, without any heaviness, and its gourmand, almost addictive scent envelops the face – perfect before a yoga class or HIIT session, when you want to look fresh without appearing made-up.

A light complexion that moves with you

For sport, classic foundation is rarely the ideal ally. It’s better to use a very fine, targeted correction.

We prefer BB creams, or very fluid foundations like those from AVRIL, designed to stay in place without a mask effect. This brand’s fine textures smooth the complexion while leaving the skin visible, which remains more harmonious when it turns pink during exertion.

Then correct only where necessary: a little concealer on the inner corner of the eye, a veil over a little redness. A fluid concealer like Lavera’s Radiant Skin Concealer, formulated withorganic aloe vera, hyaluronic acid and green tea, smoothes and conceals dark circles and small imperfections while moisturizing the skin. Its soft texture adapts to skin tone, its coverage is modulated in fine layers and the finish remains very natural, without demarcation, as if the skin were simply rested.

Finally, a hint of sun powder and a discreet blush restore relief and a healthy glow, without overloading. MÊME’s High-Tolerance Good Look Powder, infused with prickly pear oil and rice wax, warms the complexion of sensitive skin with a supple veil that doesn’t accentuate dry areas, while a creamy pink or apricot blush, applied with the fingertips to the top of the cheekbones, adds that immediate touch of freshness that immediately makes you look better.

The idea is simple: let your complexion live with you. It can be slightly rosy, but remain clean, with no streaks or patches.

Clear eyes, protected lips: the duo that goes the distance

For the eyes, the idea is to keep things simple but effective. There’s no need to work on an elaborate look for a pilates class; on the other hand, a mascara that doesn’t move an eyelash until the last set of crunches really changes the game.

So we turn to a waterproof mascara that also takes care of the lashes. Mavala Waterproof Lengthening Mascara envelops every lash, for intense, silky results all day long. Its formula with silk proteins nourishes, coats and strengthens lashes, while its ultra-precise curved brush lengthens, separates and dresses them in deep, clump-free color. Ophthalmologically tested, it is suitable for both sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, and is available in five shades for a naturally sublimated look, even when you’re working hard.

For lips, forget lipstick. Instead, use a tinted balm or a nourishing balm that can withstand the accelerated breathing and sometimes air-conditioned air of the gym. Urgo’s Baume Ultra-Riche Lèvres Abîmées, formulated with 7% purified honey, shea butter and sunflower oil, intensely nourishes and durably repairs lips. Its rich, comforting texture forms an insulating protective film that shields them from dehydration, cold and wind, while immediately soothing tightness and tingling. The result: supple, smooth lips that won’t crack in the midst of exertion, with the added benefit of a pleasant honey scent.

The final touch before entering the room

Once the make-up has been applied, there is one final step that really makes a difference: setting.

To fix make-up without weighing it down, we opt for Lavera’s Set & Glow Spray. This vegan mist withorganic aloe vera and vegetable glycerin moisturizes the skin while providing real hold. It leaves a dewy, fresh finish. Just two to four sprays 30 cm from the face, eyes closed, and the complexion remains even and luminous.

Designed in this way, make-up becomes a true performance partner: lightweight, stable, compatible with perspiration and temperature changes. Well-moisturized base, finely corrected complexion, waterproof mascara, protective lip balm and setting spray: the routine remains short, but each product has a precise function.
