ParisSelect - Sephora et Saie lancent Planet Beautiful 2026 et recyclent plus d'un million de livres de plastique pour le Jour de la Terre

In the run-up to Earth Day 2026, scheduled for April 22, a major initiative is shaking up the beauty sector. Saie and Sephora have joined forces to launch Planet Beautiful 2026. This ambitious campaign unites twelve cult brands around a common goal: to recover over one million pounds of plastic waste.

Planet Beautiful 2026: an unprecedented coalition for the planet

Thecosmetics industry produces around 120 billion units of packaging every year. Yet only 9% of this packaging is recycled. The rest ends up in landfills or pollutes ecosystems around the world. Faced with this alarming situation, Sephora and Saie have decided to take action.

The Planet Beautiful 2026 campaign finances large-scale plastic recovery operations. It also aims to prevent plastic from entering ecosystems. Recovered materials will be transformed into durable goods.

This year, the number of participating brands has tripled compared to the previous edition. As a result, theexpected impact far exceeds that of last year.

“The global beauty industry produces an estimated 120 billion units of packaging annually, yet only 9% is recycled, with the rest ending up in landfills or polluting ecosystems worldwide. Planet Beautiful brings together brands, retailers and consumers to fund large-scale plastic recovery efforts, prevent plastic from entering ecosystems and repurpose recovered materials into durable goods.”

Figures that speak for themselves

The initiative plans to recover the plastic equivalent of 23 million lipstick tubes. This also corresponds to 34 million mascaras. These volumes illustrate the scale of the challenge facing Sephora and its partners.

At the same time, Planet Beautiful 2026, in collaboration with rePurpose Global, is supporting the creation of 2,000 jobs for women through waste management programs. The initiative also supports local infrastructure in Kenya.

This 2026 edition brings together brands renowned for their commitment. Among them are Alpyn, Amika, Biossance, Caliray and Caudalie. Crown Affair, Experiment, ILIA, Nécessaire, Saie, Skinfix and Violette_FR complete the list.

Each brand brings its own visibility and community to the cause. As a result, the message reaches a wider audience. Consumers can support the environment by buying their favorite products.

From April 22 to 24, $1 from every product sold will be donated to fund plastic recycling. This concrete action allows everyone to participate in the collective effort.

A replicable model for industry

Planet Beautiful 2026 is not just a one-off operation. It lays the foundations for a model that other players could adopt. The partnership between Sephora and these brands shows that coordinated action can generate tangible results.

Consumers are increasingly sensitive to environmental issues. They expect brands to assume their responsibilities. This initiative responds to this growing demand.
