This Louis Vuitton necklace required 2000 hours of work to look like fabric.
Haute joaillerie is changing its face in 2026. It is no longer limited to demonstrating wealth. From now on, it will tell stories. With the Mythica collection, Louis Vuitton offers an initiatory tale composed of one hundred and ten pieces divided into eleven distinct themes.
A collection structured as a personal journey
Mythica borrows its narrative power from myth. Conquest, protection, intuition, revelation, triumph: each theme invites a stage of transformation. In this way, the gem no longer signifies rarity alone. It becomes the support for an intimate journey.
Since opening its Place Vendôme workshop in 2012, the Maison has built up its own visual language. The Damier motif is transposed into settings. Twists evoke leather-covered trunks. The geometry of the “V” and the Monogram flower become jewelry architecture.
With Mythica, Louis Vuitton takes this logic a step further. Graphic codes are transformed into almost archaic symbols. As a result, each piece carries a strong emotional charge.
“Mythica functions not as a series of independent ornaments, but as a coherent symbolic system.”
Bold colored stones
The collection is based on a contemporary interpretation of the colored stone. The Fortitude theme combines an 82.14-carat cushion-blue zircon with a necklace combining rope and Damier. Nearly two thousand hours of work were required to achieve a textile-like suppleness.
Zircon, long marginalized by sapphire, is back in the workshops for its optical depth. Louis Vuitton uses it here as a gemological manifesto. The Enigma theme also features a 127.66-carat cat’s-eye topaz.
- 82.14-carat cushion blue zircon (Fortitude theme)
- 127.66-carat cat’s-eye topaz (Enigma theme)
- 17.18-carat Colombian emerald (Mesmerism necklace)
- Twenty-one Mozambique rubies (Conquest theme)
- Thirty-seven colored diamonds covering the visible spectrum (Victory theme)
Fluidity as a technical obsession
Haute joaillerie workshops are now seeking to make people forget the structural weight of their pieces. At La Maison, this is achieved through articulated, garment-like architectures. The Mesmerism necklace is a perfect example.
Composed of miniature Monogram flowers assembled one by one like lace, it houses a 17.18-carat Colombian emerald. Its crystalline quality makes it a collector’s stone. The Conquest theme, on the other hand, takes a different approach.
Its necklace structures a repetition of arrows in yellow and white gold. These arrows are set with twenty-one Mozambique rubies. More than 1,200 hours were needed to ensure perfect alignment of the motifs.
An anthropological dimension
This collection draws on a variety of references. The Totem theme evokes the protective idea of the amulet. Its pendants can carry an intimate message. In this way, the object accompanies a ritual rather than a simple social appearance.
The Enigma necklace is less reminiscent of classical French jewelry than of certain Asian ceremonial ornaments. This anthropological dimension permeates the entire Mythica collection. As a result, each piece goes beyond the merely decorative.
Unprecedented chromatic ambition
The Victory theme encapsulates the collection’s ambition. Its necklace brings together thirty-seven colored diamonds covering the entire visible spectrum. In the current market context, fancy vivid diamonds are reaching extreme levels of rarity.
The very existence of such a pairing speaks volumes about Louis Vuitton’s strategy. The House is no longer simply seeking to enter the closed circle of Parisian haute joaillerie. It is trying to redefine its visual codes through chromatic saturation.
This approach corresponds to a broader evolution in contemporary luxury. The major houses no longer sell objects alone. They build complete cosmologies. This is precisely how Mythica works, with a rigorous craftsmanship that goes beyond simple brand storytelling.
Behind the spectacular stones and workshop hours, the collection tells the story of a transformation. Louis Vuitton is moving from a house historically linked to travel to a legitimate player in contemporary fine jewelry. This ambition now seems methodically constructed.
