Oscars 2025: the complete list of winners

With five trophies, Sean Baker’s Anora is the big winner at the 2025 Oscars, while Emilia Pérez shines in music and Zoe Saldaña takes a moving victory.

At the 2025 Oscars, Sean Baker‘s Anora won five statuettes out of six nominations. The drama, which already won the Palme d’Or at Cannes, won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Mikey Madison), Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing. The only fly in the ointment was that the trophy for Best Supporting Actor went to Kieran Culkin.

Confirmed favourites and a few surprises

While Anora crushed the competition, a number of other films also came out on top. Adrien Brody won Best Actor for his role in The Brutalist, confirming predictions despite the controversy surrounding artificial intelligence in the film. The film also took home the Oscar for Best Cinematography and Best Original Score.

In the adaptation category, the thriller Conclave, about a tense papal election, won Best Adaptation for Peter Straughan, already a Golden Globe and BAFTA winner.

Zoe Saldaña and Emilia Pérez in the spotlight

In the supporting roles, Kieran Culkin and Zoe Saldaña left no room for suspense. An emotional Zoe Saldaña dedicated her award to her grandmother, who was particularly touched by her performance in Spanish.

Although nominated 12 times, Emilia Pérez won only two statuettes, including Best Original Song for El Mal, composed by Camille, Clément Ducol and Jacques Audiard.

Finally, Dune: Part II walked away with awards for Best Sound and Best Visual Effects, confirming its status as a benchmark in cinematic spectacle.
