This French park has just dethroned Disneyland and Puy du Fou in the Tripadvisor 2026 world rankings.

We often think of the world’s best theme parks as being in the USA or Asia. But Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards have just sprung a surprise. In 2026, a French site took first place worldwide in the theme parks and water parks category.

Futuroscope named world’s best theme park

The ranking is based on millions of opinions left by visitors from all over the world. Le Futuroscope, in the Vienne region of France, came in ahead of last year’s winner, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. Giants such as Beto Carrero World in Brazil and Waterbom Bali in Indonesia also feature in the ranking.

Even more surprisingly, this French theme park comes in ahead of Disneyland Paris, ranked 4ᵉ, and Puy du Fou, in 7ᵉ position. These two hexagonal references are thus overtaken by Futuroscope. A consecration for this site, which has existed since the late 1980s.

Its model differs from classic roller-coaster parks. Here, it’s all about immersion, technology and special effects. Giant projections and interactive attractions form the core of the experience for families.
