On June 13 and 14, Garnier Ambre Solaire celebrates its 90th anniversary with “La Plage Ambre Solaire”, an exhibition open to the public at Le Visionnaire, Espace François Dalle. A solar immersion in the heart of Paris.
An exhibition of sun, beauty and French culture
Ambre Solaire celebrates nine decades of sun protection with an exhibition designed as a journey through time. Set up for the first time in L’Oréal’s historic building at 14 rue Royale, “La Plage Ambre Solaire” traces the brand’s link with major French cultural developments.
From the first paid vacations in 1936 to new skincare habits, Ambre Solaire has long been at the heart of our relationship with the sun. The brand was born of an intuition: enjoy the sunny days, without forgetting to protect your skin.
The tour takes a look back at the brand’s major milestones: the first filter oil, the first foam or spray textures, the after-sun ranges, protection for children, then invisible textures.
Ambre Solaire has also left its mark on the collective imagination with its famous slogan “Brunir sans brûler” (“Burn without burning”). Over the years, the brand has become a benchmark for sun protection in France.
Elle Macpherson, guest of honor
For this anniversary, Garnier Ambre Solaire welcomes Elle Macpherson. A global wellness icon and iconic supermodel of the ’80s and ’90s, she embodies the brand’s “Power Beauty” era.
Her presence creates a bridge between Ambre Solaire’s glamorous heritage and a more contemporary vision of beauty, focused on overall well-being.
Solar Water, new for 2026
The exhibition will conclude with a sensory laboratory dedicated to the innovations of 2026. Among them, the new Eau Solaire Ambre Solaire, a two-phase SPF 50 formula for body and hair.
Resistant to water, perspiration and sand, it combines protection, light texture and a summer fragrance with notes of coconut and vanilla.
