This Zeelander 5 dressed in Bentley and signed by Hermès is heading to the Mediterranean
Some boats you simply look at. Others you instantly recognise. The Zeelander 5 delivered in July 2026 by the Dutch yard in Groot-Ammers firmly belongs to the second category. Built for a Turkish owner, this bespoke yacht is heading to Mediterranean waters wearing a Bentley-inspired finish, with a Hermès signature woven through it like a discreet yet ever-present thread.
A Bentley finish for a Mediterranean sovereign
The shade Light Gazelle, shifting between grey and bronze depending on the light, is anything but an arbitrary choice. It was calibrated to match the owner’s car and aircraft exactly, reflecting a commitment to heritage consistency that is rarely pursued with this level of precision in the world of yachting.
The sinuous bodywork enters into dialogue with the curved, tinted glass of the superstructure, which preserves privacy on board. The result is a silhouette that is just as captivating at the dock as it is underway.
Every Zeelander 5 is born from a simple principle: no two units are ever alike. The in-house design studio works hand in hand with the studio chosen by the owner to produce a result that is both bold and cohesive.
An interior tailored to measure
The two cabins are dressed in lacquered Greystone joinery and Macassar-effect veneers, set against a backdrop of Mirage Rustic fabric. The leather elements, particularly in the master cabin, feature Bentley-style diamond and honeycomb quilting.

That quilting is further elevated by an Hermès orange thread, which already hints at the second major influence running through this project. Every interior detail reflects a deliberate desire for coherence across the owner’s personal universe.
The Hermès touch, the quiet thread of understated luxury
The iconic orange of the Parisian house quite literally flows through the boat, contrasting with an otherwise restrained palette across the floors, furniture and fabrics. It reappears on the stool and vanity table in the master cabin, on the cockpit seating and on the sunbeds of the swim platform.
The most striking gesture is the Corian worktop that snakes the entire length of the starboard side of the main saloon in a vivid orange streak. Hermès objects complete this signature, turning the yacht into a genuine showcase of intersecting craftsmanship.

The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, which follow the curves of the hull, offer a 360-degree view from the saloon and a constant connection with the water. An automotive influence resurfaces with the Rolls-Royce-style starlit ceiling, whose pinpoints of light recreate a night-sky atmosphere on board. An integrated humidor and a retractable television on the aft deck complete the personalisation of this already singular vessel.
Power and silence on board
At the helm, the owner has access to a Volvo IPS powertrain capable of reaching 40 knots, controlled by joystick with a precision that makes solo manoeuvring considerably more straightforward. As a result, handling the boat remains accessible even without a crew.
The yard has also pushed the work on soundproofing remarkably far. Even at full power, a normal conversation is possible anywhere on board without raising your voice.
A Mediterranean first for the Dutch yard
The Zeelander fleet already stretches from Hawaii to Australia, but this unit marks a milestone: it is the very first Zeelander 5 destined to sail the Mediterranean. In doing so, the Groot-Ammers yard sets a new marker in its geographical expansion.
The project was developed over more than three years, illustrating the relationship of trust built between the yard and a particularly seasoned owner. Sietse Koopmans, founder and chairman of Zeelander, notes that the owner has a much larger boat and is remarkably well-versed in the subtleties of life on board.
This collaboration also illustrates the yard’s approach: every Zeelander 5 is conceived as a rare possession, born from a prolonged dialogue between the yard and a visionary owner. The result is a new Dutch flagship that embodies a form of nautical luxury where personalisation knows no limits.
