Guerlain launches a 14-night wellness retreat aboard the Orient Express in 2026
Fourteen nights at sea, a personalised programme and the signature of one of the world’s most iconic cosmetics houses: Guerlain and Orient Express Sailing Yachts are taking their collaboration to a new level with the launch of Ocean Rebirth, a wellness retreat designed to transform a transatlantic crossing into a genuine regeneration cure.
A tailor-made programme, from the first treatment to the last meal
What sets Ocean Rebirth apart from a standard spa-at-sea offering is the depth of support on offer. From the moment guests board, each traveller undergoes an initial assessment that forms the basis of a fully personalised journey, adjusted day by day as each person progresses. This continuous monitoring is made possible by the presence of five specialists on board, dedicated to guiding participants throughout the entire stay.
The programme is built around four pillars: nutrition, movement, mindfulness and sleep. These axes structure all the activities on offer, from one-to-one consultations and meditation sessions to massages, beauty treatments and physical recovery practices. The culinary dimension, developed with chef Yannick Alléno, is organised around three distinct orientations: Timeless Glow, Pure Reset and Vitality Boost.
The house also deploys LongeviSkin, its device bringing together seven aesthetic technologies including LED, plasma and radiofrequency. This technical arsenal, usually reserved for specialist clinics, finds an entirely new application here, in the middle of an ocean crossing.
What a crossing makes possible that no urban spa can offer
The duration and isolation inherent to a sea crossing are, in themselves, core components of the product. A fourteen-night stay in the middle of the Atlantic creates conditions that are virtually impossible to replicate in a city spa or during a short hotel weekend. The rhythm imposed by the sea, far from the demands of everyday life, allows for a depth of support that the brevity of a conventional stay simply cannot provide.
From 12 to 26 October 2026, the Orient Express Corinthian will sail from Lisbon to Bridgetown, with a stopover in Ponta Delgada, in the Azores. This pause in the middle of the Atlantic punctuates the voyage without breaking its continuity. To broaden access to the experience, the itinerary is available in two separate segments: Lisbon to Ponta Delgada, and Ponta Delgada to Bridgetown.
- Dates of the first edition: 12 to 26 October 2026, Lisbon to Bridgetown
- Intermediate stopover in Ponta Delgada, Azores
- Five specialists on board throughout
- Four pillars: nutrition, movement, mindfulness, sleep
- LongeviSkin technology incorporating LED, plasma and radiofrequency
- Second edition scheduled from 13 to 27 March 2027, on the return leg to Lisbon
Guerlain at the heart of the concept, not just the spa
The house already operates the spa on board the Corinthian. But Ocean Rebirth marks a fundamental shift in the nature of this partnership. Guerlain is no longer simply lending its name to a space or a treatment menu: the house now plays a role in the overall design of the stay, from the structure of the programme to the nutritional choices made on board.
This evolution reflects a clear strategy. By positioning itself within the worlds of prevention and longevity, the house is transposing its cosmetic expertise into a high-value-added service. Wellness thus becomes a fully-fledged territory for expansion, reaching well beyond the beauty product.
The corporate logic behind the Accor and LVMH alliance
The coming together of Orient Express and Guerlain is far from incidental on a strategic level. Orient Express sits within Accor’s luxury portfolio, while LVMH, the owner of the cosmetics house, concluded a strategic partnership with the hotel group in 2024 to accelerate the development of the travel brand. Ocean Rebirth therefore fits into a broader corporate logic, in which synergies between the two groups take shape through shared experiential offerings.
For Orient Express, the venture reinforces its differentiation in a highly competitive premium cruise market. The scheduling of a second edition as early as March 2027 confirms that this transatlantic retreat is not conceived as a one-off activation, but as a format set to become a lasting fixture in the company’s offering.
