Metro Line 13 Closed This Sunday Until Noon: Paris’s Worst Line Is Still Shut Down—Here’s What You Need to Know

ParisSelectBook - Métro Ligne 13 fermée ce dimanche jusqu'à midi : la pire ligne de Paris encore à l'arrêt, ce qu'il faut savoir

This Sunday, June 28, 2026, Metro Line 13 will once again be completely closed for several hours. If you plan to take it this morning, you should come up with a Plan B right away.

Paris’s Most Hated Line Strikes Again

Metro Line 13 has a well-established reputation: that of the capital’s most dreaded line. Between repeated technical problems, crowded cars, and constant delays, some riders would rather make four transfers than take it—even for just five minutes.

However, these repeated disruptions are not without reason. The ongoing work is intended to modernize the line and, ultimately, provide a more reliable and pleasant service. So we’ll just have to grit our teeth and keep the reward in mind.

This Sunday, passengers will face another complete closure. The disruption will affect the entire route, from the start of service until noon.

What the RATP Plans to Do in Practice

The line will be completely closed along its entire length, from the start of service until 12:00 p.m. No transfers will be available during this time.

A replacement bus service will be provided, but only between the Asnières-Gennevilliers-Les Courtilles and Porte de Clichy stations. For the rest of the route, passengers will need to be creative and make use of the other available bus and metro lines.

Why do these construction projects disrupt daily life so much?

These construction projects are part of an effort to modernize Metro Line 13. The goal is to prepare for the arrival of new trains, the MF19s, which are set to replace the current trains. This is how the RATP explains these repeated closures since the beginning of the year.

However, many riders see these disruptions as yet another hardship. The line is already known for its problems, and every additional closure only reinforces this shared sense of frustration.

However, it’s worth noting that this closure on June 28 will be the last one on a Sunday for a while. No other weekends will be affected until August 2.

  • Metro Line 13 will be completely closed this Sunday, June 28, from opening until 12 p.m.
  • No service will be provided for the entire duration of the closure
  • Replacement bus service only between Asnières-Gennevilliers-Les Courtilles and Porte de Clichy
  • Work related to preparations for the arrival of the new MF19 trains
  • Next Sunday closure scheduled to begin on August 2

Another busy summer of construction

While this Sunday closure seems to mark a welcome break, the summer of 2026 has other service disruptions in store for Metro Line 13. Partial closures are already scheduled to take place over several weeks.

From July 6 to 26, the section between Châtillon – Montrouge and Malakoff – Rue Étienne Dolet will be affected. Then, from July 31 to August 17, the section between Saint-Denis – Université and La Fourche will be affected.

How to Stay Organized to Avoid Hassles

In light of these disruptions, planning ahead remains the best strategy. This Sunday morning, we recommend checking the alternative bus and subway routes available for your trip before you leave.

The replacement bus service covers only the northern section between Asnières-Gennevilliers-Les Courtilles and Porte de Clichy. For the other sections of Metro Line 13, the RATP has not announced any direct alternative service.

In addition, the announced summer closures will affect different sections depending on the week. It’s therefore a good idea to note the dates now so you can plan your trips in advance and avoid any unpleasant surprises on Metro Line 13 throughout the season.
