La Residencia Diplomático: three days of Venezuelan immersion in the heart of Paris on June 12, 13 and 14
For three days, Diplomático Venezuelan rum transforms a hidden house in the 19th arrondissement of Paris into a warm and inviting setting for crafts, gastronomy and cocktails.
It’s a sensory voyage, where time and manual gestures become a true experience.
From June 12 to 14, 2026, Diplomático is bringing a brand-new event to Paris: La Residencia Diplomático. More than a simple tasting, this ephemeral immersion imagines a dialogue between artisanal know-how, contemporary Venezuelan cuisine and cocktail culture. All in a setting that seems almost timeless.
Nestled just a stone’s throw from the Jourdain metro station in the 19th arrondissement, the house chosen to host this experiment already possesses a singular soul. A former painter’s studio tucked away at the end of a tree-lined courtyard, it retains its exposed brickwork, wooden beams and light-filled patio. An intimate, almost Mediterranean atmosphere, which immediately echoes the warm atmosphere of Venezuela.
An immersion designed around time

At Diplomático, time is at the heart of everything. The Venezuelan company’s rums are patiently aged to allow each note to develop its full aromatic complexity. This same philosophy permeates La Residencia.
Here, nothing is conceived in a hurry. Each day is designed around a guest artisan who takes possession of the premises and shares his or her world through small-group workshops. Participants leave with an object made by their own hands, extending the experience well beyond the tasting.
On Friday, the focus is on straw marquetry, with the creation of decorative coasters with graphic accents. On Saturday, the spotlight is on ceramics, with a workshop devoted to making a cocktail measuring glass. Finally, on Sunday, leather craftsmen will be making a customizable bottle holder.
Each session welcomes just ten participants, reinforcing the feeling of a privileged, almost confidential moment.
A cuisine between Venezuela and the Mediterranean

Gastronomy also plays a central role in the experience. For the occasion, the kitchens of La Residencia are entrusted to two chefs with complementary backgrounds: Shéhrézade Alfonso and Ruben Tayupo.
Based in Marseilles, Shéhrézade Alfonso develops a contemporary vegetal cuisine based on spices, herbs and textures. Opposite her, Ruben Tayupo explores Latin American culinary traditions with a more instinctive approach, deeply rooted in the flavors of Venezuela.
Together, they imagined a table designed in dialogue with the aromas of Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva. The rum’s notes of caramel, vanilla and sweet spices find a natural extension in the dishes served over the three days.
This culinary encounter gives rise to a cuisine that is sunny, generous and deeply sensory.
Cocktails as a means of artistic expression

La Residencia also explores the world of cocktails through an original workshop devoted to garnish, the delicate art of serving a glass.
For this experience, Diplomático invites chocolatier Edwin Yansane and bartender Léa Colla, founder of Wow Garnish. Together, they work on chocolate as a creative material in its own right: textures, aromatic combinations, visual finishes.
Participants discover how cocoa vintages can interact with the notes of Diplomático rum, while experiencing first-hand the creation of sophisticated garnishes.
A playful, elegant and particularly immersive approach to contemporary cocktails.
An eagerly awaited summer event
With La Residencia, Diplomático goes beyond the simple brand event to offer a genuine cultural experience. With its mix of craftsmanship, gastronomy and mixology, this ephemeral house celebrates Venezuelan traditions as much as it does the pleasure of taking one’s time.
A rare format in Paris, designed as a warm breath of fresh air at the start of summer.
