With its Italian Piazza, Maison Delano creates the most beautiful summer terrace in Paris

What if we were to leave Paris… without really leaving?
Since May 13, Maison Delano Paris has been reinventing the Parisian summer by transforming its inner courtyard into a veritable Italian piazza. A sunny escape, conceived as a sensory voyage, where time slows down and the codes of La Dolce Vita invite themselves into the heart of the 8th arrondissement.

Behind its 18th-century facades, the place reveals a transformed setting: a lively, elegant village square, where every detail evokes the South. An ancient stone fountain becomes the focal point, surrounded by wooden benches and olive trees, like an invitation to suspend time. Under a canisse pergola, shadows dance to the rhythm of the sun, while the deep blue earthenware of the central bar recalls the shores of the Mediterranean.

When night falls, the magic is different. Raffia hangings diffuse a soft, almost golden light, transforming the courtyard into an intimate theater where people come to see as much as to be seen.

The aperitivo, a summer ritual par excellence

It’s impossible to talk about Italy without mentioning aperitivo. More than just a moment, it’s an art of living – a delightful transition between day and night, made up of lively conversation, clinking glasses and shared flavors.

At the helm, chef Paolo Minelli celebrates this tradition with a menu inspired by Italian street food, elegantly revisited. Melt-in-the-mouth arancini with a heart of bolognese, creamy burrata with multicolored tomatoes and Bronte pistachio pesto, generously garnished focaccia or typical Emilia-Romagna piadina… Each plate evokes a fragment of Italy, between generosity and refinement.

To share, or keep jealously to yourself.

Cocktails as an invitation to travel

At the bar, the experience continues with creations designed as aromatic escapades. Gin Mare, a Mediterranean gin, serves as the common thread running through a subtle, sunny menu.

The Thymless Word, an elegant variation on the Last Word, reveals herbaceous notes thanks to an in-house thyme liqueur. The legendary Negroni, born in Florence, is savored here in all its depth, perfectly paired with aperitif bites. As for the basil-infused gin, it reinvents the classic gin and tonic with a resolutely Italian freshness.

Every glass becomes a destination.

A lively piazza to the rhythm of summer

As in Italian villages, the square comes alive with each passing day. DJ sets and broadcasts of major sporting events punctuate the season, transforming the courtyard into a vibrant and convivial place to live.

It’s the place to be in the golden hour, to extend the evening without even noticing it, carried away by this unique atmosphere where Parisian elegance and Mediterranean carefreeness come together.
