Place de la Madeleine is set to experience a rare moment this fall. Fauchon L’Hôtel Paris is celebrating its 140th anniversary with two new gourmet offerings, created by top-tier artisans, and available starting in September 2026.

Three exclusive desserts to celebrate the anniversary

It’s the pastries that really bring the celebration to life. Arnaud Larher, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, has created three exclusive desserts to round out the 140th Anniversary Menu. Their names alone say it all: the Bisou Bisou Forêt Noire, the Madeleine Trompe-l’Œil, andthe 140th Anniversary Signature Éclair.

These desserts are part of a broader anniversary menu created by Chef Pierre Chomet. This menu is served for lunch and dinner by the staff at the Grand Café Fauchon.

In this way, every course becomes a way to celebrate the restaurant’s heritage, from the first dish to the last sweet bite.

Chef Baptiste Limouzin and Arnaud Larher: Two Talents United

The 140th-anniversary menu isn’t the only place where you’ll find Arnaud Larher’s signature. In fact, the Meilleur Ouvrier de France pastry chef also contributes to the Five O’Clock Tea, alongside chef Baptiste Limouzin.

Together, they stockthe “Arbre à Bisou,” a central display case featuring both savory items and pastries. In addition, the selection is complemented by hot beverages, making for a complete and indulgent experience.

Because that is precisely Fauchon’s goal: to bring two creative perspectives together side by side in a single experience.

Five O’Clock Tea: A Revived 19th-Century Tradition

Few Parisian establishments can claim to have introduced tea time to Paris. Fauchon, however, lays claim to this history. The Five O’Clock Tea is, in fact, a tradition that the company launched in the late 19th century.

  • Service available starting September 1
  • Available Friday through Sunday
  • Served at the Grand Café Fauchon, Place de la Madeleine
  • Centered around the “Arbre à Bisou,” a display of savory and sweet treats
  • Served with hot beverages

Thus, the tea ceremony is being revived in a new form, without straying from this afternoon ritual that has endured for over a century.

A weekend event to mark on your calendar

Five O’Clock Tea isn’t something you do every day. It’s reserved for the weekends, from Friday through Sunday. This choice gives the ritual an almost special quality—that of a moment set apart, far from the ordinary week.

So, starting September 1, lovers of Parisian cuisine are invited to the Place de la Madeleine for this special event presented by Fauchon. The “Arbre à Bisou” takes center stage in the Grand Café, inviting everyone to create their own tasting menu.

140 years and a company looking to the future

Celebrating 140 years of history isn’t just about looking back. Maison Fauchon has chosen to anchor this anniversary in the present, with original creations and active chefs. It is, therefore, a celebration focused on today’s tastes.

The 140th Anniversary Menu, available for both lunch and dinner, and the weekend Five O’Clock Tea form a cohesive pair. On one hand, a gourmet dining experience led by Pierre Chomet. On the other, a sweet-and-savory interlude curated by Baptiste Limouzin and Arnaud Larher.

With these two creations, Fauchon demonstrates that a long history does not preclude the ability to surprise. On the contrary, it proves that time, when properly embraced, fuels creativity.
