The (very) Parisian Interview with Nathalie Fauquette, Yoga teacher at Maison ELLE

Who is Nathalie Fauquette?

Professional dancer, Nathalie Fauquette discovered yoga in 2012 with the primary objective of finding an alternative to traditional dancer warm-ups. Self-taught, she creates her Flow listening to her body and her own needs and follows the courses of teachers from the French Institute of Yoga. For this former French GRS champion who has been injured many times, yoga becomes obvious, the way to free her mind through the practice of conscious movements. 

She follows the training to become a yoga teacher at the Sampoorna Yoga school in India and expands her practice to Ashtanga, Yin Yoga while refining her knowledge of Vinyasa Flow. She is also a prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher trained at the De Gasquet Institute in Paris. 

Nathalie continues to train in anatomy and philosophy, convinced that the practice of yoga is not limited to the execution of asanas but to the search for inner peace. She offers a fluid practice encouraging her students not to compete with themselves. You can take her classes at Maison Elle 14 rue Brey Paris 17.

"I like to walk around Parc Monceau. I find this beautiful garden et relaxing. The flowers, especially in this season, are superb there, and the presence of water makes it a change of scenery in town."

“There are many yoga centers in Paris, the choice is vast. I advise rather to identify the teachings of teachers and to take their lessons in different places in Paris. So for get started in yoga, I recommend you togo test beginners courses at different locations and to make your is according to your personal affinities. " 

A well-being book to trust?

" The book “The 4 Toltec agreements” the path to personal freedom by Miguel Ruiz. A book that summarizes the 4 main principles to free our thoughts and our emotions. I truly recommend it to you. It will follow you all your life ."

"If I can find time for shopping, I prefer to go stroll in the swamp and unearth nuggets of second hand." 

A district to feel the soul of Paris?  

"It's a difficult question Paris to things to offer, so I'm not going to say a quarter…. But start with a Cafe rue Montorgueil, stroll to Louvre and Tuileries garden and go up the pedestrian quays of the Seine."

What are the main principles that guide your work? 

« kindness and love, It may sound like big words but it's my teaching principle. This goes through respect for the body and alignments, in order tobring well-being and let go." 

Do environmental concerns influence the way you design your life projects? 

“Yes very much, it is a major concern right now. It starts with us, me, I consume differently whatever food products, cosmetics, clothes,use of water. I try to be careful on a daily basis and think about life projects in accordance with the environment, like less flying. » 

What are the qualities of a good Yoga teacher? 

" I would say listen (and this involves listening to the body), sweetness, envy et adaptability en body function, mood and the spirit of the moment."

What is the project that is close to your heart in 2023? 

“Succeeding in organizing more than yoga retreats to bring yogis together for unforgettable moments of sharing and develop my collaboration with HOME SHE because I love this rejuvenating house, a little bubble of happiness ! "
