5 tips for pretty photos of Paris on Instagram

It is not always easy to take pretty pictures, which perfectly highlight what you see. With its sometimes gray sky and its grumpy inhabitants, Paris does not always give us gifts. However, she has all the qualities to become the greatest model of all time. So, to honor this city that we love so much, we give you the right advice for successful photos every time (or almost!). And with all that, you'll get a few extra likes on Instagram as a bonus...

1. Choose a good object

It is important to choose the object of our photo well. For example, the monuments will of course be more liked, but you can also capture moments of life: a Parisian woman on a terrace, the painters of the Place du Tertre, the lively terraces of a pedestrian street or even the life of pretty shops.

2. Compose a pretty frame

It is then necessary to pay attention to all the elements which surround our point of interest. We will avoid shooting while passers-by are walking in front, for example. On the other hand, we will appreciate flowers in the foreground for example, playing on different levels of reading of our image will bring depth.

3. Vary the shots

For a greater choice of photos, we do not hesitate to vary the angles of shots. Diving, low angle, we have fun finding the one that will have the most impact. A view from below will give relief while the shadows will be accentuated by a higher view.

4. Pay attention to the light

For some time, filters have not been popular on Instagram. Thus, we must pay even more attention to the light of our shot. The flash should be avoided because it is often too strong and therefore "breaks" the colors. We prefer daytime photos and we watch for the best time to take our photos. Sunrise and sunset can be a good option, otherwise, when the brightness drops (during autumn or winter for example), the sun is preferred at the zenith. For successful night photos, we make sure that the lighting is strong enough and we opt for a smartphone with a more advanced camera, the best being to go out with a real reflex camera.

5. Rework our photo

Today there are many tools that allow us to improve our photos before posting them. We can thus rework the brightness, the contrasts, the sharpness. If necessary, we will also rework the brightness and contrasts to fill in the flaws in our shots.
