Like every year, Galeries Lafayette Haussmann thought big to inaugurate the end-of-year celebrations. The windows and corners of the department store have gone into Christmas mode thanks to the designer's magic brush Charles de Vilmorin. The latter has in fact imagined marvelous characters and celestial creatures to amaze visitors.

But the most anticipated element is none other than the famous tree, which like every year, stands in the center of the store! This year, the tree also benefited from a lovely makeover by Charles de Vilmorin! The young designer describes his artistic direction for this collaboration as “dreamlike, offbeat and magical”. And we can only confirm!

It is this Sunday, November 19, 2023 that the illuminations of the Champs-Élysées were inaugurated. On the theme “Let's make Paris shine”, more than 400 trees along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées have been adorned with sparkles.

So, from this day forward until January 7, 2024, the avenue will shine brightly every day from 17 p.m. until midnight. A visually quite exceptional device, which already attracts tourists from all over the world.

The luminous route of Faubourg Saint-Honoré

Another unmissable district at the end of the year: that of Faubourg Saint-Honoré. At rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré and rue Royale, illuminations decorate these prestigious streets of the 8th arrondissement, making Paris even more magical than it already is.
It was on November 16 that these sumptuous illuminations were inaugurated during the Winter Time evening, organized by the Faubourg Saint-Honoré Committee.

The result is a decoration combining magic and environmental responsibility with low-consumption LED elements and recyclable decorations. A real pleasure for the eyes and a walk well worth the detour.

The Samaritaine windows

We continue our magical tour of the capital, this time going towards the Seine, where the Samaritan woman has put on her festive clothes.
For this end of the year, it is true palace of delicacies that this department store has decided to transform itself. This time again, color is key! The windows vibrate with sparkling blue and red and reveal impressive Christmas tree displays, beautiful fashion pieces placed on silver platters, or even models who seem to have already found their ideal holiday outfit.

But the element that we recommend you not to miss is undoubtedly the gigantic chandelier overflowing with candies. A creation brimming with originality, imagined by photographer Gab Bois, who offered her very particular vision of gluttony.

And that's not all! The store is full of settings specially designed for the festive period, and which are an absolute feast for the eyes.

Still on the theme of gluttony, Pierre Hermé has many surprises in store for you. Without mentioning the logs, advent calendar and macaroons, it should be noted that Pierre Hermé is marking a great collaboration with the department store, by offering exclusively two king cakes with beans in the colors of the Samaritaine. In summary, this is a gourmet event not to be missed!

The interior decorations of Le Bon Marché

Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, for its part, unveiled its Christmas windows on November 10, marking the beginning of the magic that takes over the establishment as the festivities approach. This year, the four windows on rue de Sèvres come to life around the captivating theme of Christmas in all its glory, in the company of soft and fluffy guests.

Against a backdrop of sparkling stardust and sparkling XXL Christmas baubles, majestic giant bears, sporting the store's emblematic colors, come to life in four breathtaking gourmet scenes. Dressed in golden jackets, they illuminate the facade of the Bon Marché, offering an irresistible invitation to young and old, for a journey marked by regression and recreation in the heart of the temple of shopping on the left bank.

Avenue Montaigne

Like every year, theAvenue Montaigne adorns himself every evening with a golden coat. On this luxurious Parisian avenue of the Golden Triangle, the trees sparkle with a thousand lights, making all its visitors dream... During your stroll, we recommend that you enter the Plaza Athénée.

The Royal Village

As the end of the year festivities approach, the Royal Village wears its most beautiful finery of light. Monumental twinkling bears, red balloons as beating hearts… The magic of Christmas is well and truly back in the 8th arrondissement!

Place Vendome

For the end-of-year celebrations, the sublime Place Vendôme is adorned with lights. This famous square is enhanced by the installation of huge majestic fir trees that shine with a thousand lights and garlands of stars… These light up the facades of the prestigious watchmakers and jewelery shops that make the reputation of this legendary square. With all these illuminations, the Vendôme Committee offers us a real invitation to dream!
