To celebrate its iconic Re-Nylon collection, Prada is inaugurating new pop-up stores at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. Here's everything you shouldn't miss!
The House of Prada is starting the year 2024 with some nice surprises. And it is at Galeries Lafayette that the iconic brand has decided to set up several new boutiques to celebrate one of its most notorious collections. And it is about the Re-Nylon collection, first launched in 1978.
Essentially composed of Nylon accessories, this collection has established itself as a new era in the history of luxury accessories. 46 years later, Prada has decided to pay homage to these pieces which still enjoy undeniable success with fashion enthusiasts today.
3 ephemeral corners at Galeries Lafayette
To mark the occasion, the brand is launching a series of pop-up stores exclusive to Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. The House is also offering a reissue of its book “Prada a Milano”, the limited edition book produced at the end of the 80s by the famous photographer Albert Watson.
It is at the main entrances of the Department Store (Mogador and Lafayette doors) where we find the facilities dedicated to Re-Nylon products for women. The black and white checkered marble floor evokes the very first Prada boutique at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. This installation is also found in The Atrium of the Man's Store, where a spectacular lantern immediately captures customers' attention.
Reissue of the book “Prada a Milano”
The reissue of the book “Prada a Milano” plays a crucial role in the installation of the different Prada spaces. The exterior of the store features backlit versions of Watson's photos. A bit like pages from his book, which combine to create an extraordinarily powerful visual effect. The walkway between the two buildings also takes up the motif of the interior columns and is adorned with the triangle logo of pure light.
What to expect from the collection?
In terms of the pieces in the collection, everything comes down to the bags and accessories. Re-Nylon bags and accessories for women decorated with the metal triangular logo come in a myriad of shapes and functions. From totes and backpacks to gym bags and shoulder bags.
For men, multi-pocket backpacks and fanny packs sit alongside spacious travel bags, wheeled bags, soft suitcases, trunks and hard suitcases. Re-Nylon also appears on down jackets, coats and overshirts. Shirts and pants are not left out. There are also poplin shirts, sophisticated cashmere knits and even jersey sweaters.
