Haute Couture Fashion Week is approaching and some big news has hit the heart of the fashion world. And yes, Simone Rocha will design Jean-Paul Gaultier's next Haute Couture collection!

After the creators Chitose Abe, Gleen Martens, Olivier Rousteing, Haider Ackermann or even Julien Dossen…It’s the turn of the Irish designer, Simone Rocha, to deploy all his talents during the next Haute Couture show by Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Indeed, since the latter left the artistic direction of its house in 2020, the brand invites each season a fashion designer for a haute couture fashion show which reinterprets the archives and the identity of Gaultier, through his personal stylistic codes.

For Spring-Summer 2024 season, Jean-Paul Gaultier opts for a daring bet by inviting Simone Rocha. The announcement of this collaboration was made on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of the designer, wearing a message from Jean Paul Gaultier: “Congratulations on your show!!! And we’ll see you soon, for your next one… In Paris!!! Jean Paul. »

Simone Rocha: between dream and romance

Simone Rocha has been attracting more and more attention in recent years and has now established itself as the designer to absolutely follow! Originally from Ireland, she draws inspiration from her roots and culture, fusing style grunge and romantic. His silhouettes are constantly exploring, playing with contemporary volumes, new textures, while reinterpreting the codes of precious femininity.

Personalized sublime looks adorned with pearls, lace, flowers,… A dreamlike style adopted by many stars, such as Billie Eilish. In fact, during the Met Gala of 2023, the singer opts for a long black dress perfectly combining lace and transparencies, directly evoking the aesthetic of a doll worthy ofa Tim Burton film.

A highly anticipated collection

Simone Rocha already has a series of collaborations under his belt. She has worked with prestigious brands such as Moncler, J Brand, and even lent his talent to H&M. The most surprising example? His reinterpretation of the emblematic Crocs. She designed three pairs of shoes with utilitarian accents, enhanced by crystals and jet pearls.

His next show with Jean Paul Gaultier promises to impress the entire fashion scene! So, make it Wednesday January 25 to be surprised by the boundless creativity of Simone Rocha.
