A new exclusive collaboration is established in the world of Haute Horlogerie. Audemars Piguet has teamed up with American singer and guitarist, John Mayer, to recreate a limited edition of the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar.
Singer, songwriter, guitarist but also big watch collector... John Mayer worked hand in hand with the teams Audemars Piguet in order to design an expressive dial. Thus, he infused his sensitivity into the creation of a distinctive timepiece in 18-carat white gold, brilliantly combining the aesthetic power of Royal Oak to the refinement of perpetual calendar.
But it is especially in the new sparkling finish from the dial reveals John Mayer's vision of a crystalline sky. The relief pattern, composed of irregular shapes evoking crystals, adds depth as well as a shine unique to the watch, thanks to its sharp angles and its facets.
So, to achieve this level of detail and complexity, each atom of the stamping die has been carefully designed by a metal deposition process called electroforming. “My favorite watches are those whose dial you can gaze at indefinitely. A good dial is like a panoramic window: you enter it by looking at it. » explains John Mayer.
