Stroll & discovery

A walk in the Opera district

If you like, share !

The architecture of the Opéra district certainly represents one of the finest legacies of Haussmann town planning from the Second Empire.

Gathering of beautiful period buildings, this area grouping the 9th, 2nd and 1st arrondissement, has succeeded in the challenge of modernizing itself while retaining its beauty dating from the nineteenth century. Loaded with a very broad cultural heritage, the Opéra district gradually became a temple of shopping and fashion, with the opening of department stores at the end of the XNUMXth century.

During a walk in this district, do not miss the Boulevard Haussman, on which sit the Department Stores: the famous Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, Printemps Haussmann, but also a myriad of unmissable boutiques: Zara, Mango, Adidas, H&M, Sephora, Minelli…

On theOpera Avenue, you will also find various shops: fashion, beauty, stationery… For fashionistas, we advise you to pop into Levi's, Anthropologie and Pourchet. Beautystas, for their part, will necessarily find their happiness at Basket of the Senseset Paris Duty Freewhile aesthetes and other literary people will lose themselves at Brentano's, the American bookstore. A little hungry during your shopping break? You will have the choice between the donuts of Besties Bakery, the pretty sweets of Cédric Groletor the macaroons of Pierre Hermé.

If you are looking to settle down to have a good hot chocolate or sip a cocktail, you will be delighted by all the cafes available to you on the Boulevard des Capucines, starting with the famous Cafe de la Paix, a meeting place for Parisians since 1862.
