In the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Near the Madeleine. In the discreet rue Godot de Mauroy, nestles a very “select” address.
His discretion is remarkable. Its quality is exceptional. Connoisseurs keep it for their restricted circle, this address is reserved for the elite.

Once through the sliding doors, a warm, Japanese-style welcome awaits you. Traditional outfits and greetings in Japanese, you are transported to Japan for a meal that will remain engraved on your taste buds.

Marie Akaneya, Japan in the heart of Paris

It is in May 2023 that the Marie Akaneya restaurant opens its doors in Paris. The restaurant defines itself as a “sumibiyaki” of popular Japanese cuisine. In other words, a restaurant where food is grilled over charcoal to allow the pure taste of the ingredients to be extracted.
In terms of decoration, the address has focused on Japanese minimalism.
There are eleven barbecue tables and a semi-private room, equipped with tatami. The atmosphere is subdued, the music captivating and soft, the perfect combination to let yourself be transported to the other side of the globe and live the Marie Akaneya experience in its entirety.

The holy grail of Japanese beef and the king of melons

But it is on the plate that all the surprise takes place. Obviously determined to revolutionize Japanese cuisine in Paris, Marie Akaneya collects superlatives: first sumibiyaki in Paris, first restaurant outside Japan to offer meat from Ito Ranch, and also first establishment in France to offer “muskmelon” Crown Melon in Fukuroi, the gastronomic experience is unique.

Matsusaka beef is the most revered in Japan. Until then, the Japanese had always carefully kept it for domestic consumption due to its rarity, its extreme quality and the strong demand. A national treasure unknown outside of Japan, which began to be exported for the very first time in its history, in April 2023, and which is exclusively available from Marie Akaneya.

The Crown Melon is known as the Japanese king of fruits and traditionally given to important people. It combines elegant and delicate sweetness with a juicy and appetizing texture. Its rich and refreshing aroma, comparable to musk, makes it the highest quality melon.

Eye for detail

From the decoration to the plate, minimalism and simplicity leave room for the quality and importance of the product. The elaborate tasting menus offer a wide selection of flavors and textures from Japan. The valuable explanations and advice from the staff always accompany them in the most enriching way possible.

3 menus are available: The Akaneya menu, at €120 per person. It is ideal for a first visit and offers a great discovery of Matsusaka beef in all its forms. The Fukuroi menu, at €180 per person. It combines Matsusaka beef and pork and ends with an exquisite tasting of Fukuroi Crown Melon.

Finally, the Sansekai menu, offered at €520 per person, reflects a more creative, spontaneous and intuitive personality. This is the only menu with filet mignon from Ito Ranch, Kishū Binchōtan white charcoal from Wakayama and Kangen water created with Japanese technology.

Now that you are in the know and hold the secret of the existence of this address more than select, all you have to do is go there.
