Ainsi, le Monday April 8 2024, the Michelin Guide decided to present the crème de la crème of the most prestigious French hotels, capitalizing on its expertise which allows it to list more than 5000 establishments remarkable throughout the world.

Michelin keys: the new symbol of excellence

For this first selection, 189 French hotels, offering from 3 to 248 rooms and distributed in different regions, have been allocated between one and three keys. In addition, with 10 distinctions, the Île-de-France region stands out by concentrating more than a third of the hotels classified as three “Keys” in France. Mainly located in Paris, there are prestigious establishments such as The Bristol, The Ritz or even the Plaza Athénée.

Thus, these new distinctions symbolize different levels of quality and service. Among the 38 hotels awarded two keys, they must offer a “exceptional stay”, while the 24 establishments honored with three keys must offer a “extraordinary stay”.
